Kendra Leisinger, Accompanist
Kendra Leisinger taught music in public schools for 38 years before recently retiring from Ankeny. She has served as an accompanist for groups and soloists since the 1980s, including Heartland Youth Choir in the 2010s.
As an undergrad, Kendra was a member of band, orchestra and choir. She graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock and Wartburg College. She received a master’s degree in music education from UNI. She served as President for the Iowa Music Educators Association and spent four summers in Washington, D.C. lobbying for music education.
Kendra has two sons and is excited to become a grandma for the first time in December! She has four cats that were rescued as kittens from her garage who require a lot of attention. Her favorite things to do include attending concerts, reading novels, watching house flipping shows and going on road trips with her family.
