Lydia Schettler-Blum, Associate Music Director

Lydia Schettler-Blum graduated with a Bachelor's of Music Education from Simpson College in 2011. Since then, she has taught vocal music Pre K-12, private voice and piano, and directed musical theater. She holds a Master of Music Education with a Kodály emphasis from the University of St Thomas. Lydia began her current elementary music placement for the Johnston school district in fall of 2018. 

Lydia loves playing folk songs with her ukulele and sightreading frivolous pieces for family and friend sing-alongs!  Lydia also plays piano at some metro churches and sings with the Des Moines Early Music Ensemble. When not musicking, Lydia can be found talking to her plants, making jewelry, and hanging out with her husband and two hilarious bonus children.
