Demo Choir for Teacher Workshop - Sat. Sep. 26

Heartland Youth Choir Directors will be presenting professional development to teachers across the state!  We understand this comes up VERY fast, so it is not required but HIGHLY encouraged for singers to participate! We really need a group of at least 20 singers to make this work! Singers from Chanté will work with Mrs. B in a “demo rehearsal” to showcase various learning techniques.

When: Sat. Sep 26 - 10:45-11:50 AM

Where: Simpson College - Amy Robertson Music Center, Lekburg Hall. N Buxton St, Indianola, IA 50125

Wearing: any HYC Shirt and jeans (if you don’t have one, let us know at the first rehearsal!)

Please use the button below to confirm whether or not your singer will participate no later than THURSDAY, SEP 24

Chanté Super Saturday - Sat. Oct. 17

Chanté will dig into a lot of music, play games, eat, and conclude with an Informance for families. Informances are a chance to peek behind the curtain to see the process of learning, and see your child in action! This is a required event for all singers. A light snack will be provided.

Where: Windsor Heights Lutheran Church

When: Sat. Oct. 17 -  1:00-6:00 PM
Family informance begins at 5:30 PM in the sanctuary

Wearing: Blue HYC t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers

Bring: Binder, water

Heartland Harvest - Sun. Oct. 18

This will be our first HYC event of the year (replacing AutumnSongs).  Rather than a formal concert, this will be a free-admission event for families to spend time together, hear small informances from all the choirs, fundraise for the 26-27 HYC season, and more!

To get in the spirit of the season there will be indoor Trunk or Treating, a Costume Contest, baked goods, dinner, and plenty of games!

Special Guest: Vox Infinitus will be performing at this event. A wonderful male a cappella group in Des Moines!

Where: Westminster Presbyterian Church

When: Sunday, Oct. 18, 1:00-5:00 PM
CHANTE PERFORMS @ 1:45 PM (open house style - come when you can, leave when you must!)
