Meet the Composer - Sat. Apr. 26
HYC’s annual event will be featuring composer, Leeann Starkey this year! Chante will join choirs from Ames, Iowa City, Perry, and North Scott in day of clinics, rehearsal, and an afternoon performance premiering her new work.
WHEN: Call time 8:15am, Clinic 9:15am, Performance 4:00pm
WHERE: Plymouth Church, 4126 Ingersoll Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312
WEARING: Arrive in informal uniform (HYC tshirts and jeans). BRING your formal uniform (all black), there will be time to change prior to the concert.
Families are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as space is limited for the concert!
World Songs - Sun. May 4th
HYC’s last organization wide concert of the season!
WHEN: Call time 1:20pm, Performance 4:00pm
WHERE: Sheslow Auditorium, Drake University 2507 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311. Singers should be dropped off at the East Main side doors of the building and head directly to the auditorium.
WEARING: Arrive in formal uniform (all black, hair styled out of face, no jewelry)
St. Louis Tour - May 23-25
All information pertaining to tour including the draft itinerary, payments, and commitment forms can be found above.
Touring singers WILL CONTINUE Tuesday evening rehearsals on May, 6, 13, and 20 to prepare for our tour performances.
There will be a FINAL TOUR MEETING for families and singers on May 6th to go over everything!
Medical forms can be emailed or brought to rehearsal anytime before May 6th at the FINAL TOUR MEETING

SummerSongs Camp - July 21-25
HYC hosts a full-day summer camp for singers who have completed grades 4-8. Join us for a week of rehearsals, games, movement, fun afternoon excursions, and a performance at the end of the week. More info, and registration at the link below!

** Rehearsal will continue for those participating in tour each Tuesday until we travel. If you are not touring, final rehearsal is prior to World Songs

May 23-25 - St. Louis Tour (optional)
June 15 - National Anthem at I-Cubs Game (optional)
