Welcome to Heartland Youth Choir!
We are so excited to have you and your singer(s) join Heartland Youth Choir. Below is some singer information about HYC. Please contact the office if you have any immediate questions.
Rehearsal Attendance
Singers must be present for 80% of all rehearsals/retreats to maintain a good standing in the ensemble. If a singer cannot meet this requirement, a meeting with the singer, their caregiver, and the conductor will be held to determine a course of action. At the conductor’s discretion a singer will be tested on their materials to determine their readiness for the upcoming performance. If a singer is not sufficiently prepared, they will be suspended from the performance. It is your responsibility to find what you missed at the rehearsal and learn any new material on your own time.
Uniform
Families will be expected to purchase the items for the formal uniform. Information can be found on page 16 of the choir handbook (link below). The HYC t-shirt will be provided for the informal uniform.
The formal uniform will be used for the following performances: WinterSongs, Meet the Composer (not Canto), and WorldSongs.
Cadet choir does NOT have a uniform.

Tuition
Heartland Youth Choir offers three types of payment plans:
A pay-in-full option, with payment for the year due by September 1; or upon registration if after Sep.
A semester payment plan consisting of 2 payments, one by September 1 for the fall semester and the second by January 15 for the spring semester
A monthly payment plan which consists of 8 monthly payments, due the first of the month starting in September and concluding in April. Payment options include check, credit card, cash, or ACH (automatic) withdrawal. See below for more information.
ACH (Automatic Withdrawal)
If you have chosen this option an ACH form will be emailed to you. In order to start your ACH payment, the ACH form needs to be returned to the HYC Office either by email or a physical copy needs to be delivered to the church (singer can bring it during rehearsal or it can be mailed).
Sibling Discount: If two or more children from the same family enroll, an additional 15% discount is awarded to each sibling in the lower-level choir(s). The oldest singer pays the full tuition amount.

These emails contain information that the entire organization will benefit from. If you are not receiving these emails the Friday following your registration, please reach out to the office at office@hearltlandyouthchoir.org
Every choir has a Choir Page specific to their ensemble. This is where you will find information about upcoming performances and happenings for just your singers’ choir. You can find these all at the following link: Choir Pages — Heartland Youth Choir.
HYC uses the REMIND platform to give last minute updates about rehearsal cancelation, performances changes, as well as anything else that may need to be shared with families quickly. Please find your singers choir page to get signed up. You will not need to download an app to utilize Remind.
