Kelli Stoermer, Executive Director
Kelli Stoermer joined the Heartland Youth Choir staff in the spring of 2021, bringing with her a rich blend of classroom experience, coaching expertise, and a deep commitment to nurturing young musicians. Before stepping into her role with HYC, she spent six years teaching elementary music and two years coaching.
Kelli earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Iowa Wesleyan College, she later completed a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Viterbo University, expanding her skills in curriculum design, organizational leadership, and community engagement. Her teaching career has taken her across Northeast Iowa, Southeast Iowa, Newton, and West Des Moines, giving her the opportunity to work with diverse student populations and school communities.
In addition to her work in education, Kelli is a published children’s author. Her recently released book has allowed her to connect with readers and families throughout Central and Northeast Iowa, where she enjoys visiting schools, libraries, and community events to share her story and encourage a love of reading.
Kelli lives in Winterset with her husband, their two children, and the family dog.
