Carmina Burana with the Des Moines Symphony - April 3-6
Cantemus will serve as the “Ragazzi Children’s Choir” for this absolutely EPIC work by Carl Orff. Being featured with the Des Moines Symphony is a huge honor, and great responsibilty to give an excellent performance. The adult choir will consist of Iowa State Choirs and the Des Moines Choral Society. These are professional musicians we will be working with and it is crucial for all of our singers to be timely, prepared, and on their best behavior at these rehearsals and performances.
Below is an approximate schedule of these additional required rehearsals The times may vary slightly, but please plan to be there and arrange transportation accordingly. Please let Mrs. B know ASAP if you have any conflicts.
Where: The Des Moines Civic Center, 221 Walnut Street Des Moines, IA
When: Thurs. April 3rd, 6:15pm-9:30pm (rehearsal)
Fri. April 4th, 6:15pm-9:30pm (rehearsal)
Sat. April 5th, 6:30pm-10:00pm (performance at 7:30pm)
Sun. April 6th, 1:30pm - 5:30pm (performance at 2:30pm)
Wearing: Formal Uniform (black stage accents top, black bottoms, black shoes/socks/tights. Hair out of face, no jewelry (stud earring are ok).
SummerSongs Camp - July 21-25
HYC hosts a full-day summer camp for singers who have completed grades 4-8. Join us for a week of rehearsals, games, movement, fun afternoon excursions, and a performance at the end of the week. More info, and registration at the link below!

New Orleans Tour, June. 27-July 1, 2025
Tours are a strong tradition with Heartland Youth Choir and we are THRILLED to be traveling to New Orleans this summer for the Crescent City Choral Festival.
