Weekly Schedule for Fall 2025 - Tuesdays: 5:45pm-7:45pm

Harmony Central Chorus Concert —&— Christkindlmarket
This will be a big day for cantemus! We are honored to be performing at two wonderful events on this day. HYC WILL provide a snack in between performances for the singers, but they should eat lunch before arriving. Families are responsible for their own drop off and pick up, and are welcome to stay and listen to BOTH performances if desired (but not required). Both performances are free of charge to the public!
Carpool drivers have been notified, and all singers who need a ride are accounted for!
Harmony Central Chorus is a treble voice barbershop choir. Cantemus will sing some of our own WinterSongs music as well as a combined piece with them! This choir is a great example how singing is truly a life long activity!
Christkindlmarket is a European style marketplace with performers, artists, food, and other vendors. We are thrilled to be asked back to perform as this is an annual HYC favorite event!
Where: Harmony Barbershop Delegation Concert @ First Baptist Church, 8250 NW 62nd Ave, Johnston, IA
Christkindlmarket @ Principal Park, 1 Line Dr, Des Moines, IA 50309 (Park in the NORTH or BALLYARD lot, and walk to the south end of the MAIN lot. We perform in Yuletide Hall at the farthest end of the parking lot.
When: Sat. Dec. 6 - FULL DAY commitment - 12:30pm-5:30pm
Call time approx. 12:30pm @ First Baptist Church for rehearsal and sound check.
Harmony Central Chorus concert @2:00pm
HYC will provide a snack following the performance, and we can relax for a little while before heading out!
DRIVERS - Depart First Baptist and Drive to Principal Park - approx. 4:00p
Christkindlmarket performance @ 5:00pm (sound check 4:30pm)
Pick up at 5:30pm at Principal Park (pick up at circle drive, or meet us at the back of the tent!)
Wearing: Formal Uniform (Black Baxter top, and black bottoms), hair out of face, no jewelry
Christkindlmarket Map - performers will be at the bottom of the MAIN LOT.
Students may be picked up at yuletide halll OR at the small circle drive just north of the mainlot w/ the trees!
Sun. Dec. 14 - WinterSongs
HYC’s WinterSongs concert is always a highlight of the year, and our highest attend concert! Tickets are required for friends and family, and are available on the website under “Tickets and Concerts” or to the side here.
When: Call Time 12:55pm - go to Auditorium - Concert 4:00p - doors open 3:30p
Where: Sheslow Auditorium @ Drake University, 2507 University Ave. Des Moines, IA
Wearing: FORMAL Uniform (black baxter top, black bottoms, and black shoes) hair out of face, no jewelry or bows.
Bring: Water bottle if desired, but water snacks will be provided.

Wed. Dec 17 - Hoyt Sherman Holiday Open House
This FREE event is sure to be a fun one! Singers will be providing the entertainment for the evening alongside the many offerings of food, drink, and SANTA at Hoyt Sherman.
When: Call time 4:00pm (please let us know if you will be late due to school dismissal time). Sound check 4:00-4:45pm.
Dinner will be provided (Jimmy Johns) backstage for singers from 5:00-5:50pm
Performance at 6:00pm, Pick up at approx 7:15pm
Where: Hoyt Sherman Place, 1501 Woodland Ave, Des Moines, IA 50314. Drop off at the doors labeled “Center for Artists and Education” just north of the box office on the east side of the building.
Wearing: Formal Uniforms w/ holiday swag!
Italy Tour 2026 - Any confirmed travelers - PASSPORTS
If your singer does not currently have a US PASSPORT please be sure to start the process for application NOW. Passports should be in your possession 6-months prior to travel (aka December 2025) so don’t wait! First time, mionr children must apply in person, and often need an appointment. Please review travel guidelines and passport processing online and get it done as soon as you can.
