Weekly Schedule for Fall 2025

Windsor Heights Lutheran Church: Mondays, 6:00-7:00pm

Resurrection Lutheran Church, Ankeny: Tuesdays, 5:35-6:35pm

First Rehearsal Schedule -

Mon. Sep. 8 (WHLC) / Tues. Sep. 9th (ANK)

ALL singers will rehearse for the full time listed above while the meeting occurs

Parent meeting -

Sep. 8 - WHLC from 6:00-6:30

Sep. 9 - ANKENY from 6:05-6:35

Super Saturday - Sat. Sep. 20th, 8:30am-12:00pm

Super Saturdays are an important day to get a jump start on our learning music, and making friendships in our choirs. It’s also a crucial day for our 2 sites to get to practice together before our first concert. Cantilena will rehearse, snack, and play games. Parents and family are encouraged to attend our INFORMANCE at 11:30am in the Sanctuary. Informances are chance to share our learning process to see that work that goes on in rehearsal, and all the skills your child is building by participating in HYC.

When: 8:30am Drop off, 11:30am Informance (families arrive!), 12:00pm Pick up

Where: Windsor Heights Lutheran Church (for ALL singers!)

Wearing: Informal Uniform (HYC provided t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers)

Bring: Binder, water bottle *snack will provided, but students are welcome to bring their own if they have dietary concerns

Try It Out Rehearsals! Bring a friend through end of Sep.

 

Our singers and families are our best recruiters for HYC!

If you know a friend who loves to sing, invite them with you to rehearsal to come and

check it out.

We’d love to see

both our Cantilena sites grow this year.

Formal Uniforms - Order now!

Full details discussed at Parent/Caregiver Handbook Meetings. All singers need to order the MAROON POLO SHIRT from LandsEnd. These will be worn at the Winter and Spring concerts.

All singers/families are responsible for providing their own:

  • black dress PANTS or SKIRTS (with black opaque tights if the skirt does not reach the floor). No jeans or leggings. These should be nice dress slacks or skirts.

  • plain black dress SHOES (slip on, simple laces, or small buckles are acceptable).
