1. Amavolovolo
We added movement! Refer to the performance recording for a reference.
Write in your score in measure 3:
V1: Fists up/down
V2: Point L->R->L->R
V3: Fists together with circle movement
2. Kasar
Become independent with middle lamentoso section m. 47-62
Sing through your part with the reference recording!
At the beginning of the piece, write the following:
W= Whisper
S= Speak
Sh= Shout
Listen to the reference recording (Stellenbosch choir) on YouTube and follow along in the score. Any time you have a spoken part, write in W, S, or Sh from what you hear in the recording. We will be following their interpretation for our performance.

World Songs - Sun. May 17
HYC’s final concert of the main season! Invite your family and friends to hear music from all over the world, and celebrate the amazing we’ve had this year as a choir.
Where: Sheslow Auditorium, Singer enter Stage Door on West Side to go directly to the basement. 2507 University Ave, Drake UniversityDes Moines, IA 50311
When: Call time 1:00pm, Concert 4:00pm
Wearing: Formal Uniform (all black, no jewelery except small earrings)
Bring: Folder, water bottle. PHONES must be left in the basement during rehearsals and performance.
End of Year - Assessments
Sign up for a time with Mr. Gookin (or Mrs. Bartemes if no Gookin times work for you) to complete your skills check for the end of the year! Singers will be assessed on rhyhmic and melodic reading, as well as ear training excercises.
National Anthem @ I-Cubs - Sunday, June 7
HYC has been accepted to sing the National Anthem again this year for the I-Cubs. This is a fun event, and a great way to spend time with friends on a Sunday afternoon after we finish singing! If you are available, please sign up so we have a big group for the game! If you are going on tour these times are work great with our rehearsal schedule.

First Tour Rehearsal is Sunday, May 31 from 2-5pm. Click info page below for FULL rehearsal schedule.
Final Tour Meeting is Tuesday, June 9th at 5:30pm. Families should attend with singer (approx. 45min), and we will have rehearsal following the meeting until 8:00pm
